Our elementary school is the
place to be
for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade!
We offer two "homeroom" classrooms at
each grade level,
each led by enthusiastic, credentialed teachers that love Jesus.
Our elementary school teachers maintain class
room websites, updated weekly,
so that parents can enjoy an overview of upcoming class events, long-term
assignments,
and information specific to each homeroom.
Email is very useful in communicating with our
staff. Each LCS staff member is available
to students and parents through a personal, confidential email address.
In addition to our excellent grade level homeroom
teachers, your student will learn
Music and Performance with Mr. Kell and Miss McCann,
Computer Keyboarding and Software Application with Mrs.
Fieselman
Art History and hands-on Art Instruction with
Mrs. Helfer
and Physical Education Skills with our athletic director,
Coach Dwayne Fowler!
Each K-5 teacher is assisted by a LCS teacher's
aide to help with small group instruction,
special projects, record keeping, and much more! We love our Aides!
Students in Third-Fifth Grade can participate in
our after school Elementary Choir.
We usually have 40+ students in this choir and score very high at the
ACSI Choir Festivals.
Concert Band and Jazz Band is available to
students in Fourth and Fifth Grade.
We also compete at the ACSI Band Festivals with great results!
Our after school sports program begins in Fifth
Grade.
LCS belongs to the Christian Athletic League.
Flag football and Basketball for
boys,
Volleyball and Basketball for girls.
Our LCS students have many opportunities for
added learning during
curriculum-based field trips. The fire station, dentist
office, children's theater productions,
science centers, historical re-enactments, museums, the airport,
and more.
We also travel over night for a 3-day Sacramento/San Francisco trip
in 4th Grade and
a 3-day Science Camp at Forest Home in the San Benardino Mountains
in 5th Grade.
Middle School trips include a 5-day Washington
DC/Gettysburg tour in 6th Grade,
Catalina Island Science Camp for 3 days in 7th Grade, and a week
long mission trip
to Juarez, Mexico in 8th Grade.
