What is scrip?
If you have ever used a gift card or certificate, then you have used
scrip! Scrip is another name for gift cards. The program works
by parents, relatives, and friends purchasing gift cards from LCS and
using them to shop for everyday items such as clothing, food, gas,
entertainment, or giving them as gifts.
|
How does the program work?
Great Lakes Scrip Company purchases scrip from merchants at a discount and
offers it to nonprofit organizations like LCS at discounted rates.
Then LCS sells the scrip to you at face value. The difference
between the discounted rate and the face value is the school's profit.
|
What does scrip do for you?
By purchasing scrip to make purchases you would normally make, you raise
money for the school and your child's tuition account without spending a
penny more that you normally would. As an incentive to encourage
families to participate in the program, the school splits the profits with
the families who participate. This means that 50% of the profit you
generate will be posted to your student's account to pay down
re-enrollment and tuition costs, or school trips. The profits are posted to your
account in January and June.
Example: Stater Brothers is offered at a 5% discount, which means
when you purchase a $100 Stater Brothers gift card from LCS, the school is
charged $95, creating a $5 profit. This means that $2.50 (50% of the
$5 profit) will be posted to your student's account.

When and how do I order?
Order on Friday, pick up your scrip the following Friday. Blank
order forms are available during school hours from the scrip box located
in the school office hallway.
Completed scrip order forms are accepted on
Friday mornings at the scrip table set up near the Adult Center from
8:15-8:30 am and 2:45-3:15 pm. Can't make it to the table, just mark
"scrip" on the envelope and drop it in the scrip slot located
next to the school office Monday-Thursday and it will be processed on
Friday morning. Orders received after 3:15 pm on Friday will be held
for the next processing date.
The filled orders will be available for
pick up the following Friday at the scrip table between 8:15-8:30 am and

Are volunteers needed?
Yes! If you are interested in helping, please contact Donna Hoskins
at scriplcs@gmail.com or drop a
note in the school scrip slot/box. Volunteers can help by accepting
orders at the table on Friday morning or afternoon, or processing orders
during the week, or handing out filled scrip orders on Friday morning or
afternoon. Thanks!! |
